Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies to host ‘Black Pride Ride’ on Feb. 21
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies will host the Caravan of Hope/Black Pride Ride on Saturday, Feb. 21, starting at 2 p.m. at McAlpine Park and ending at Erskine Hawkins Park.
Participants who want to get creative can start gathering at noon to decorate their vehicles to commemorate Black History Month. Alumni organizations, fraternities, sororities, churches, candidates, communities and businesses are welcome to join, and there is no cost to participate.
“Now more than ever, we need to celebrate our heritage with a spirit of love for each other,” said Brenda Phillips-Hong, who founded Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies. “We’re going to have a good time, and we hope everyone leaves feeling hopeful and inspired.”
Participants will line up starting at 1:45 p.m. at McAlpine’s parking lot at 1115 Avenue F in Ensley. The event ends at the Erskine Hawkins parking lot at 1900 Ensley Avenue.
