The Walk for Maternal Health Awareness will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Bessemer Recreation Center (Roosevelt Park), 100 14th Street in Bessemer. The awareness walk begins at 10:15 a.m., followed by the main event starting at 11:00 a.m. This community event is held in honor of Black Maternal Mental Health and is designed to bring people together to support healthier outcomes for mothers and infants. Attendees can participate in the awareness walk, visit vendors and community resource booths, enjoy grilled food and refreshments, and take part in fun activities, music from a DJ, and games for the whole family. Hosted by Khairi and Little Angels’ Memorial, the event aims to educate, uplift, and unite the community while raising awareness about the importance of maternal and infant health.
