The proportion of people who reported smoking marijuana in the United States has doubled over 10 years, and almost one-third of users – 6.8 million people – are addicted, a new government survey has found.
Deborah Hasin, lead researcher on the study had the following to say: “The important findings of the study is that the rates of use are going up, [Marijuana is] not a completely harmless substance, and there are some risks involved.”
